To be competitive, these companies offer a broad array of investment services and products for both institutions and individual investors. Through a variety of vehicles they must provide investors with investment strategies that best meet their specific needs. Specific offerings include Separately Managed Accounts, Mutual Funds, Unit Investment Trusts, Alternative Investments, Retirement Services, and College Savings Plans.

The following information is based on a project based engagement for designing and building a data warehouse for a top Asset Manager.

EEI provided consulting services in the areas of: 1) Requirements Gathering and Analysis, (2) Data Modeling, and (3) Technical Architecture. The primary objective was to build a Data Warehouse used to deliver Risk Reports to business users and exception messages to operations personnel. Information for the data warehouse is sourced from the Client’s various business systems including Portia, the Account Services Database, Yield Book, and Bloomberg.

• Review and gather requirements for the Risk Reporting Data Warehouse (RRDW); 
• Map data from source business systems to the Data Warehouse; 
• Provide Recommendations to ensure the RRDW is reliable and scalable;
• A recommended technology architecture for the RRDW; 
• Documentation to facilitate knowledge transfer to the Client’s staff.
