Enterprise Engineering and Intuit Team to Offer Automated Tax Return through TurboTax
EEI to Provide Application Service Provider (ASP) Support for Companies Seeking to Outsource Automated Tax Returns Functions
New York, NY — Enterprise Engineering, a leading E-commerce Internet Infrastructure provider, announced that it is working with financial institutions and Intuit to enable the electronic delivery of tax information directly into Quicken® TurboTax®.
Through this collaboration, participating companies and financial institutions can support the Automated Tax Return (ATR) — a feature unique to TurboTax. ATR allows TurboTax users to electronically import common tax information — wages, interest income and dividends — directly into the correct tax forms in TurboTax. EEI's leading E-Finance platform, EnterpriseFTX™, will fully support the Tax Reporting extensions for OFX 2.0, providing the critical Internet connectivity necessary to transfer this information over the Internet. Currently, OFX is the industry standard for exchanging financial information over the Internet.
"We're very excited about ATR and the companies that have joined us this year," said Bob Meighan, vice president of the Intuit Consumer Tax Group. "By supporting OFX, Enterprise Engineering makes it possible for Intuit and the companies working with us to deliver the level of service and security our customers expect."
EEI will also deliver support for this functionality via an Application Service Provider (ASP) model thereby allowing companies the option to outsource the technological infrastructure necessary for delivering ATR, saving tremendous time and money.
"Many institutions will implement servers to support the ATR functionality; however, we seek to provide any corporation with the ability to deliver W-2 and 1099 information to TurboTax. By offering an ASP option, any of our customers will have a cost effective option when delivering tax information," said George Anderson, President and CEO of EEI. "And by teaming with Intuit we ensure that our customers can better support the delivery of all online financial services over the Internet."
