EEI AND SUN MICROSYSTEMS ANNOUNCE OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE TEST RESULTS FOR ONLINE FINANCIAL SERVICES
EnterpriseFTX on Sun Hardware Hits Over 500,000 Transactions Per Hour
NEW YORK, NY and SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Enterprise Engineering, Inc. (EEI), a leading provider of open, high-performance Internet software and Sun Microsystems, Inc. announced the results of the latest performance internal test for EEI's EnterpriseFTX™ platform running on the Sun platform. Details of the performance test show that EnterpriseFTX can reliably scale to more than 10 million clients running on Sun Enterprise™ 4500 servers. These test results demonstrate that EnterpriseFTX on the Solaris™ platform can provide increased capacity and scalability to financial institutions for the delivery of next-generation online financial services.
In order to deliver online tax information — including W-2, 1098 and 1099 forms — into TurboTax products, institutions need a server connectivity layer. EEI's EnterpriseFTX™ will be an Intuit recommended financial server engine for any institution seeking to streamline the delivery of tax information over the Internet into TurboTax products.
Additional highlights from the research included:
-
The ability to maintain an average response time of under 2 seconds when scaling to 525,000 transactions per hour;
-
The ability to increase capacity (during peak loads) up to at least 10 million clients by configuring additional processing components within the iPlanet™ Application Server and adding additional processing resources (CPUs) to Sun Enterprise 4500 system;
-
The ability to quickly and reliably process a matrix of customer transactions totaling 12.5 million in a 24 hour period handling consistent loads of over 500,000 transactions per hour
Developed to provide a foundation for delivering online financial services, EnterpriseFTX can meet the needs of today's financial institutions and their partners seeking to deliver a wide array of Internet capabilities, including banking, brokerage, and insurance. EnterpriseFTX can also provide the ability to support new access channels — PFMs, wireless, and web — and enable companies to integrate these channels with their traditional delivery mechanisms — ATMs, brick & mortar, and voice response.
