QIF Enablement

Beginning with Quicken 2005 for Windows, QIF Import will no longer be available for checking, savings, 401(k) and all other brokerage account types.

Enterprise Engineering, Inc. (EEI) has developed a plug n' play solution that includes the software components and documentation required to guarantee a swift migration from QIF to the Quicken Web Connect format, QFX, Financial Institutions (“FI’s”) currently supporting QIF can benefit from a simple migration to Web Connect with this EEI software offering.

EEI will provide Financial Institutions with the solution necessary to cost effectively manage their connectivity customers using Quicken software. The solution will allow an FI to install our product and convert a QIF file into QFX in less than a week

EEI's offering will benefit QIF conversion customers in the following ways:

• Leverage the existing QIF investment
• Leverage QIF technology and maintenance experience
• Uninterrupted Intuit product connectivity
• Reuse of existing infrastructure
• Eliminate the need to architect and build a new solution

The EEI offering includes:

• A QIF Adapter that connects to an existing QIF offering. This is accomplished by extending the QIF file format on the FI side. By extending the file format the FI can pick and choose optional fields to support bank statement download,
• All connectivity and business logic required to validate Quicken Web Connect requests and reply with valid OFX response messages,
• Installation wizard that performs an installation verification procedure and tests connectivity to the FI backend,
• GUI interface allows for first time setup and ongoing maintenance.

This offering provides significant benefits for Intuit and the FI resulting in a reduced sales cycle, reduced certification expense, and faster time to market. This solution will plug n' play into an FI's infrastructure and deliver OFX in a few days making it easier to implement and support.
