The components of the EnterpriseFTXTM Platform are designed to work together to provision and deploy required applications and services in an automated, easy-to-use, scalable and manageable fashion by leveraging the explicit knowledge embedded in domain-specific XML formats and protocols and by integrating necessary functions at the data, message and application API levels using UFE - the Integration Broker.

BSM’s are based on industry standard DTD’s and XML Schemas e.g., IFX, STPML, RIXML. The following steps are required to build and provision a new business service using Business Services Modules:

  • Identify the application to be deployed – an application is represented by a message set which is the basic building block for construction of a BSM;
  • Define the scope and application of each Web Service – identify the functions to be exposed to the user community. Functions are represented as messages (i.e. a funds transfer or a stop payment) within a message set (i.e. a banking service);
  • Import an industry standard DTD, proprietary DTD, or XML Schema using EnterpriseFTX™ Integrator; supported import formats include flat file or a URL;
  • Analyze and define business rules using SIMLTM Advisor;
  • Enhance DTD or Schema using Protocol and Process Authoring capabilities of the EnterpriseFTX™ Integrator;
  • EnterpriseFTX™ Integrator adds metadata definitions to the imported DTD or XML Schema to build a BSM and publishes the BSM to the Universal Financial Engine™;
  • Use SIMLTM to map interfaces to external system and generate or leverage appropriate adapters;
  • UFE connects business systems, clients and partners to the new system
